Our Story

Federal Equipment Company (FEC) was incorporated in the state of Ohio in 1982, as a partnership of experienced shipboard equipment engineers and technical experts in specialized material handling equipment. Working closely with the many domestic shipyards for their various projects the company was able to grow with the added benefit of the expansive machining capabilities located in and around the Ohio Valley Area.

Federal Equipment Company expanded their engineering capabilities in late 1999, designing new dumbwaiter systems for the Navy and retractable helicopter hangar systems for the US Coast Guard. These capabilities continued to expand using the latest computer aided design technology and simulation tools, allowing even greater growth into other shipboard systems as well as additional commercial markets.

In 2006 Federal Equipment partnered with US Drill Head Company and moved its corporate headquarters into their 80,000 square foot facility along the Ohio River 10 miles west of downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. Furthering this expansion, FEC partnered with TKF Conveyor Systems, also located in Cincinnati, in 2011, adding another 30,000 square feet of fabrication space and equipment. With this increased engineering, manufacturing and production capacity, Federal Equipment Company is poised to continue its expansion into the Government Shipboard Equipment Market.
